NEW ORLEANS – From Get Online NOLA:
Get Online NOLA, a woman-owned small business specializing in digital marketing, has created a new grant for small businesses. The NOLA Get Online Grant is an annual opportunity for small businesses to get a free website to help them start their digital presence.
The first Get Online NOLA Grant winner is Will & Toosie Specialty Iron Work. Mainstays of the Lower 9th Ward community, Will and Rochelle “Toosie” Peck own Will & Toosie Specialty Iron Work. Will specializes in creating the ornate yet functional wrought iron fences and railings that New Orleans is known for.
The Get Online NOLA grant was created to support small businesses or charities with a free website created by Get Online NOLA. A high-quality website can help these organizations grow and thrive in our increasingly digital-driven economy. The grant came at the perfect time for Will & Toosie Specialty Iron Work. They suffered a major setback earlier this year when Will’s van, full of his specialist tools, was stolen.
“Having a professional-looking website for my business is a big deal. I can show off my past work and find new clients online without having to rely on word of mouth,” says Will Peck, owner of Will & Toosie Specialty Iron Work.
“We think small businesses in New Orleans really make it special! As a small business owner, I know that an unexpected win can make a huge difference, especially in the early years. Custom websites may be inaccessible for many small businesses, so it’s important to us to provide a quality starter option. When we heard about Will & Toosie, we were inspired to give them a website and make it the annual small business opportunity we value so much,” says Wendy Dolan, Founder and Owner of Get Online NOLA.
The Get Online NOLA grant will be an annual opportunity for small businesses to earn a free website. Small businesses that need a free website can apply at the Get Online NOLA website. The 2023 grant is open for applications now and will end in March 2023.
