Delhi Police Commissioner launches revamped Welfare Wing website


New Delhi, May 25 (PTI) Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana launched the force’s revamped social wing website on Wednesday and also distributed financial aid of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of deceased police officers because of COVID-19.
Announcing several welfare schemes for serving and retired personnel and their families under a ‘PARHIT’ scheme held at its headquarters on Jai Singh Marg here, Asthana said: ‘Delhi Police are like a family and retirees or loved ones of staff who have made the supreme sacrifice while in the line of duty should not feel separated at any time.It is also the duty of every serving staff member to comfort our former staff members and to ensure that their grievances do not go unaddressed.
Police say the revamped Welfare Wing website offers welfare-related information and solutions, be it humanitarian jobs, Delhi Police Welfare Scheme, Fund Delhi Police Martyrs, Health and Welfare, Mess Booking Service, Police Educational Foundation (PFED) among other facilities.
In addition, all documents, including ID card, pension payment order, discharge certificate and senior citizen card of pensioners will now be provided on Digi-Locker, so that these documents remain secure. and close at hand with all of our former staff, police said.
The police chief assured that pensioners and relatives of deceased personnel could also take advantage of the open day repair facilities.
“If a policeman is not relaxed on the family front, he cannot work in a focused manner, while a motivated policeman is more effective and efficient in carrying out his duties,” he said.
The financial aid distributed on Wednesday was donated by Mankind Pharma, police said.
Asthana also commended the contribution of stakeholders who have come forward to provide monetary assistance to deceased Covid parents among police officers and education partners to offer economic courses to personnel departments preparing for competitions and pursuing studies superior.
Welfare Wing has also signed MoUs with reputable coaching institutes such as Nirman IAS Academy, Alternative Learning Systems (ALS), Drishti Academy, and Pace IIT and Medical, in which these institutions have offered discounted or free courses. for police departments preparing for competitions or higher education, police mentioned.
